Use a device you are familiar and comfortable with. If you are learning a device for the first time, spend some time using it along with this course.
You’ll want to record WAV files over MP3 files. WAVs are generally what you edit with and MP3s are what you export and share
The amount of audio sources you’ll be using will help to determine the device you’ll need.
Handheld devices are a great option for both audio only and audio/video applications. However, if your camera has the option to plug in an external microphone, you may want to take advantage of it
